Time to make big changes in my life with lots of work to do in a short amount of time! I've never backed down from a challenge and I don't intend on doing so now!

On October 13, 2009 I submitted my application to join the Canadian Armed Forces as a Regular Force member. Basic Military Qualifications (BMQ) is scheduled for end of August, 2010.

Up & Running

Best $110 I ever spent...

I wonder how many entries I can come up with that start out with “The Best $$$ I ever spent…”!!?!?!

However, today I really mean it. Back in January I had originally scheduled a running assessement to be done but the accident pushed that back. When I was finally able to run decently, I developed bronchitis. [...]

T-6, Taking time for yourself

I’ve mentioned a few times how I’ve been a tad on the exhausted side, getting ready for everything. My vitamin C regime appears to have worked and my throat is feeling tonnes better today. This is awesome news, believe me! I’d hate to start training sick. So, this is good!  However, overall I haven’t taken the time to [...]

T-9, Sporadic entry

Sorry guys, too much going on to make a decent entry these days. There’s only 24 hours in a day and a lot of those are eaten up by sleeping and work — and leaving a very small amount of time for doing much else. I’ve been trying to get everything done before I go, [...]

9 days people!

Holy crap.

Running out of time, so much to do… this working full-time, working freelance and getting ready for the army stuff, ain’t much fun. I’m looking forward to Saturday, when I can sleep in and trust me! I will most definitely be sleeping in this weekend on both days because it’ll likely be the last [...]

T-22, Getting your affairs in order

Being prepared for basic training does involve more than just getting fit, mentally prepared and through the job interview. For some — especially older people or those with commitments such as family — have a few more things they need to arrange before they leave.  When the recruiting centre asks you if you have any [...]

T-33, Hope!

Hey guys! I can kinda bend my knee today so it’s all good! My right knee doesn’t hurt a wink which is great — last night there was an egg-sized lump on it so I’m relieved! The other one I imagine will be stiff a few days. I’m giving it yesterday and today “off” and [...]

T-35, Just what I needed…

Tonight after class, I ended up speaking with one of my classmates. She’s from up north and we’ve started talking a bit being the little social butterflies we are. Sometimes you just feel drawn to someone, to talk about things you normally wouldn’t with someone.

We’ve got a lot in common.

I shared a while back, what [...]

T-44, Updates

Hey! Just a few updates….

Ankle …………

The ankle is healing up really awesome and I’d say I’m already about 90-95% healed, after just a few days. I think that’s pretty good considering how severe it felt on Saturday and how the doc said he’d never seen someone get a sprain in that part of the foot [...]

50 days & Happy Canada Day!

Wow, I can’t believe there’s only 50 days left until this new journey begins! But, that being said - I suppose I’ve been on this journey already for over a year now! So much has changed, so much for the better and it’s amazing to see the support I had from my family and friends. [...]

T -59, I am so ready to get this show on the road!

Tonight I had the chance to gather with some friends after an evening of band practise. Out of the ten there, three are on their way to basic training. It was awesome in that the three of us could talk about our excitement. It was exciting to have a conversation with others who share the same [...]
