Time to make big changes in my life with lots of work to do in a short amount of time! I've never backed down from a challenge and I don't intend on doing so now!

On October 13, 2009 I submitted my application to join the Canadian Armed Forces as a Regular Force member. Basic Military Qualifications (BMQ) is scheduled for end of August, 2010.

Up & Running

Progress, I take it where I can get it...

Well, I’ve had absolute crap for a few days. To give you an idea of what kind of pain I’ve been in… remember that car accident? I didn’t cry once with it… Today? I cried, right there at the MIR (medical clinic)! While getting the pneumonia checked out, the doctor poked around my shoulder a [...]

Never-ending Pneumonia

It’s been almost 10 days since I got pneumonia (or, maybe longer if it was lingering a while) and my anti-biotics are done… and I still am sick. I’m on two puffers right now and since I last wrote, ended up in the hospital one night . Had a good encounter with a doctor and [...]

Surviving, barely.

Hey folks,

Well, this wasn’t exactly the kind of first update I wanted to give. However, it is what it is.

First week of basic was going okay. I failed my first PT xpress test by one push-up, which sucks. We had a chance to re-do the test on the Friday but Thursday I had injured myself [...]

Best $110 I ever spent...

I wonder how many entries I can come up with that start out with “The Best $$$ I ever spent…”!!?!?!

However, today I really mean it. Back in January I had originally scheduled a running assessement to be done but the accident pushed that back. When I was finally able to run decently, I developed bronchitis. [...]

T-27, Four weeks from now…

Four weeks from now I will be driving down a highway passing through my old communities waving good-bye to my family along the way and heading to Quebec and finding myself at the Saint-Jean megaplex fortress where I’ll be walking through The Green Door.

The Green Door is where all new recruits to Saint-Jean pass through [...]

Good to go!

Results of the x-ray came back and it was all good! Only some bruising & irritation of the tissues in-between the knee-cap and epidermis that will require good ol’ “time” as a remedy for healing.  Let’s hope for speedy healing!

Time is short these days, especially when you have to be somewhere in a month in [...]

T-32, Humpty Dumpty

Some good news, despite feeling like Humpty Dumpty!!! Everything seems to have healed well with the sprained ankle and the doctor ordered some x-rays with regards to the knee to make sure everything is a-okay with it. He did say I could have broke it but - he won’t give an official diagnoses until he [...]

T-33, Hope!

Hey guys! I can kinda bend my knee today so it’s all good! My right knee doesn’t hurt a wink which is great — last night there was an egg-sized lump on it so I’m relieved! The other one I imagine will be stiff a few days. I’m giving it yesterday and today “off” and [...]

T-36, Renewed Optimism

Feeling a bit more centered today and rejuvenated. I had a few instances happen today which made me realise even moreso, how much I need this change in my life and how far I’ve come in the past year… and how incredibly far I’ve come in seven years. Long story (won’t go into it) but [...]

T-37, Fortune Cookies Do Not Lie

I’ve got to say I’m a bit on the freaked-out side. I do not feel ready physically to go. Honestly, this car accident really had slowed down my progress and I was in total denial of how bad it was. I needed to be in denial as a coping mechanism.  I’m fine now but it took [...]
