Time to make big changes in my life with lots of work to do in a short amount of time! I've never backed down from a challenge and I don't intend on doing so now!

On October 13, 2009 I submitted my application to join the Canadian Armed Forces as a Regular Force member. Basic Military Qualifications (BMQ) is scheduled for end of August, 2010.

Up & Running

This is what happens, when you REALLY do it...

The last six years of my life have been a whirlwind on so many levels when it’s come to emotional, physical and employment. Most of those six years have been out of my control and my reactions have been immediate responses to circumstances. Nothing was really planned the way that I would have normally planned [...]

November 28 & 29 Updates

These past two days have flown by. I am doing a freelance job and had some “friend” business to deal with. I don’t think I really “worked out” as in a full-blown workout BUT… I did work on my planks this weekend.

I’m working my way up to holding it for 30 seconds… got up to [...]

November 26 & 27 updates :)

Hello folks! Yesterday was a day of ‘rest’ for me. Kickboxing sure kicked my arse, that’s for sure! Actually, it wasn’t TOO bad. I ached but it wasn’t so bad. I offered to babysit my friends kids in the afternoon and ended up having to go to my storage unit afterwards, to find some stuff [...]

Survived the Kickboxing!

Had the 4:30 session at the gym and WOW… I can still walk. I survived the session. Only one pulled muscle but I think it was the one the physio worked on a lot last week so I’m not surprised nor worried. It was a great session….and I’m just surprised I survived actually, haha!

As promised [...]

And now? For something completely different!

The other day I was talking to a friend — Bill — who goes to one of the gyms daily. I asked if he happened to know anyone who did martial arts or kickboxing or ANYTHING. I’ve been in a bit of a rut mentally and physically these days and just need something to not [...]

It is slowly coming along!

The pain in the hip is going away slowly. It’s not something that happens overnight and I see the physio again on Friday. Hopefully only a couple of sessions and I’ll be good to go!

Going to the gym at least once every day lately. Haven’t been doing the running (maybe next week) but am doing [...]

Week 1, Day 1 : OKOA Re-commences!

Hello! Welcome to the re-commencement of Operation Kick Own Ass (OKOA) which helped shed 40-ish some pounds between May and September, 2009. While that OKOA I was a success, we now need to take it a step further and implement OKOA II.

OKOA II will require even more hard work than the first one along with [...]

In not so many words...

… I have been advised to hurry up and get my fitness up. This is not an indication of a start date for boot-camp officially but it couldn’t have been told to me any clearer than if I had it stamped on my forehead. I’m trying to find the piece of paper for my gym [...]
