Time to make big changes in my life with lots of work to do in a short amount of time! I've never backed down from a challenge and I don't intend on doing so now!

On October 13, 2009 I submitted my application to join the Canadian Armed Forces as a Regular Force member. Basic Military Qualifications (BMQ) is scheduled for end of August, 2010.

Up & Running

Upping the running

One of the things that I have been falling behind on is the running. It’s something that I put off the last couple of months due to the accident. I could have run but I was afraid of delaying the recovery of whiplash due to it and then I ended up with bronchitis which really [...]

Slightly pissed at myself, until I look at the big picture...

There’s nothing more frustrating when you’re a big person working out like a bugger and you don’t see any change on the scale. In all honesty? I haven’t really lost any weight since I returned from Borden in October. I talked about yesterday the up’s and down’s and what was going on when certain peaks [...]

Progress

Things are moving along here pretty good the past little while. The following chart is from Traineo, a place I keep track of things. We all need a nice little pretty chart now and again, don’t we? To see our progress?

It’s interesting to see the ups and the downs on the chart you’ll see below [...]

So, how is that personal training going?

I definitely feel that the personal training is worth it. Yes, it was expensive but I am most assured it is what is going to help me out in the long run. I’ve had a few sessions now (maybe 5?) and I can feel a difference I believe. Maybe too soon to tell for some [...]

And, this is THE entry I\'ve been waiting to write for a long, long time!

After my interview last Friday, I was told that it would take at least a month for things to “move along” with any kind of outcome. Essentially, hold onto your seat and wait the long wait.

However, Tuesday afternoon I had received a message to call the recruiting centre. It was too late to call so [...]

Merit listed! .... again

My trade of choice didn’t open this year. I can’t wait another year for hopes that it will open so I had to take the bold step and just select a second choice. It’s something I can live with, it’s something I can do, and it’s something that I think I will excel at due [...]

Personal Training Session #2

Today I had my second personal training session. Sometimes I think the cost of it is worth it, other times I don’t. But I know it takes more than just two sessions for it to really make much of a difference. I am definitely trying to work the upper body and back to make sure [...]

The next two months

Last night I spent a great deal of time looking at where I am, where I need to go and just how the hell am I going to GET to the place I need to go to.  And in the end, I had a calendar with everything I need to do completed. The next two [...]

All that I learnt

When I first started this blog over a year ago, I had wanted it to be a place where I could speak about the truth of what is happening with things. I wanted it to be a place where I could document the highs and lows… the pros and the cons… the good and the [...]

The good, the bad and the…. what? Take Three!

Next in the series of entries called The Good, The Bad and the… WHAT?!, is an update of my progression in meeting the minimum standard requirements for entrance into the Canadian Forces.

Back at the end of March, 2009 I first wrote an entry called The good, the bad and the … what? in where I had [...]
